Wine Appreciation Seminars

Interested in attending wine appreciation seminars? Do you have family, friends or customers in town and would like to attend a unique event? Take a look at the wide range of seminars offered at our facility and remember most can be modified to a one-night event. Classes will begin in January and will continue through the year. We can also schedule private seminars (with or without) dinner for a group of friends and/or business associates, offering one of the most unique experiences in Westchester! Grape Vines

Winemaking Overview, Fascinating Tidbits & Homemade Wine Tasting Event - $75
Learn the art/science of high-quality homemade winemaking, and we’re not talking about wine that was made in a basement! We begin with grape characteristics and selection, then overview the entire winemaking process. Students learn about the four winemaking phases and the equipment utilized in each step of the process. Throughout the two-hour seminar, we provide fascinating tidbits about grapes, corks, barrels, bottles and wine storage that the casual wine drinker would find very interesting. Participants will have the ability to tour the winemaking school and sample a wide variety of homemade wines immediately after the seminar.

Wine Appreciation Basics - $85
This is an excellent course for beginners. During a 90-minute seminar, participants will learn wine tasting basics. We will focus on sampling and understanding the differences between popular white wines (Chardonnay & Pinot Grigio) and red wines (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir & Sangiovese). We will also provide an overview of how to select wines to compliment foods. During this seminar, students will learn taste and evaluation methods while sampling a minimum of (6) six different wines from California and the Pacific Northwest.

Map of ItalyItalian Wine Appreciation - $150
Learn about the famous wine making regions that have made Italy one of the top wine producers in the world! Over the course of (3) three sessions students will learn about specific winemaking regions and the characteristics of the wines produced in that area. The Italian regions addressed in this seminar include the following:

      • Tuscany
      • Piedmont
      • Veneto
      • Abruzzi
      • Apulia
      • Sicily
    While sampling the wines from each region’s top producers, students will also learn the top vintages to look for as well as food pairing considerations.

Introduction To Wine Appreciation - $175
This is an excellent course for beginners as well as those who have enjoyed different wines for years! Over the course of (4) four sessions, participants will learn how to select wines to compliment foods, as well as, how to serve and store wines. During each class students will learn taste and evaluation methods while sampling (5) five different wines from different regions of Europe and America. Students will also be provided with list of the best vintages for the top varietals in America, Italy and France.

Wine Appreciation Continuation - $200
For those that have taken the Introduction To Wine Appreciation course, or already know the basics and want to expand their understanding about wine. Over the course of (5) five sessions students will spend each night learning about and sampling the best-known wine varietals from the following regions:

      • Napa / Sonoma
      • Pacific Northwest
      • Italy
      • France
      • South America / Germany
The fifth session focuses on learning about the production of dessert wines while sampling a variety of bottles from all around the world.

Advanced Wine Appreciation - $225
Taste and learn about why some wines are able to fetch prices of $50 and more in many local wine retailers. Over the course of (2) two sessions, learn about and taste some of the top vintages in America, Italy and France along with hearing effective storage methods for those with limited and unlimited space and budget considerations. Also learn about buying “Bordeaux Futures” and why some enthusiasts consider this as an interesting method to diversify their investment portfolio.
