MYO Wine Newsletter
What’s New!

Dear Wine Lover,
If you didn't receive this letter last year, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rich Mattina, I'm a local resident who opened a winemaking School in the heart of Westchester County in 2004. I'm happy to report that over 150 people are making wine with us! Some of their photos are included in this letter.

For those of  you that are unfamiliar with what we are offering, pour yourself a glass of wine and read the rest of this letter.

Where is it?
The Make Your Own Wine School of Winemaking is located at 105 Fairview Park Drive, in Elmsford, NY. We are centrally located and within walking distance from the driving range, ice skating rink and Sam's Club. It's easy to reach and close to home!

About the School
There are four class sessions combining informative presentations with hands-on winemaking activities in a fun and friendly learning environment. The classes are tied to the four phases of winemaking and scheduled at specific times throughout the year:

•Crushing/Destemming Mid-August- November
•Pressing August- November
•Racking February
•Bottling July

About the Grapes!
Within five days of harvesting, your grapes arrive in our facility. This ensures the optimal sugar and acid levels necessary to produce balanced wines. The following California red and white grape varietals are available for you to Make Your Own Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Riesling to name a few. There are also a variety of blends available depending on your palette preference.

More Information
Check out www.MYOwine.com for detailed information, or to inquire about corporate events, fundraisers and private parties. Due to last year's demand, we began accepting reservations in February for this upcoming season. If you would like to see our facility (and sample some wine) call me at 914-741-5425. I've enclosed a brochure for you to share with friends and family. Soon you too could be drinking your own wine--complete with a personalized label.

Introduction

Dear Wine Enthusiast,
My name is Rich Mattina, a local resident opening a Winemaking School in the heart of Westchester County! If you love wine as much as I do, you might want to pour a glass right now, relax, put your feet up, and read the rest of this letter.

How Does it Work?
There will be four class sessions combining informative presentations with hands-on winemaking activities in a fun and friendly learning environment. The classes are tied to the four phases of winemaking and are scheduled at specific times throughout the year:

  • Crushing/Destemming September - November
  • Pressing August - November
  • Racking - February
  • Bottling - July

During the Racking Session, you will also Make Your Own Custom-Designed Wine Labels to Make Your Own Wine even more personal and special, when enjoying yourself or sharing with others.

Wine Cellar RoomsYour seminars are held in our new facility housing two theme-decorated wine cellar rooms. Then, hands-on winemaking takes place in our climate controlled 3,500 sq. ft. area with state-of-the-art equipment and oak barrels for the proper aging of your wine.

We notify you when your order from our Varietal Menu of California grapes arrive, and your classes are scheduled accord-ingly. Excited? The Make Your Own Wine experience is ready to begin!

Look for more information in the weeks to come as we keep you posted on our latest activities. We hope you are as excited as we are to have MYO Wine - Westchester’s School of Winemaking so close to home.

Thanks for your time, and if you have any questions, or would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
Rich Mattina
